Cardinals Suffer Third Loss of Season

CCBC Catonsville's women's basketball team suffered their third loss of the season on Wednesday, falling to Montgomery College 58-49.

While the Cardinals' defense held another opponent to under 60 points, the offense struggled to outscore the Raptors. Catonsville was held to a season-low in points despite two players scoring in double-digits.

After falling behind 23-10 in the first quarter, the Cardinals' defense took over in the second. Catonsville held Montgomery to just nine points in the quarter and lowered their deficit to nine points as well. But the rest of the game would belong to the Raptors. Montgomery kept the Cardinals at bay, despite Catonsville's defense forcing 21 turnovers, 29 defensive rebounds, and eight steals.

Sophomore forward Jocelyn Fogle (Hammond) led the Cardinals in scoring with 15 points and six rebounds. Sophomore center Dasia Townes (Baltimore Poly Tech) added 13 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and two steals, while freshman forward Serafina Stubbs (Owings Mills) led the Cardinals with 12 rebounds.

Next up for Catonsville is a clash with Anne Arundel on Friday, January 12.
